Introducing Kerry Cleary
VBA Consulting was founded in 2011 by Kerry Cleary, a passionate values based leadership coach, facilitator, and expert in recruitment, leadership development, and safeguarding. Kerry's aim was to make a difference to organisations in the voluntary, public, and private sectors that shared her passion for creating inspiring values based cultures for their staff and those they provided services to and supported.
With a background in HR leadership across various industries, Kerry's pivotal experience came during her tenure at the NSPCC, where she spearheaded initiatives in safeguarding and employee engagement. Notably, she developed Values Based Interviewing and influenced safer recruitment practices nationally through her contribution to the Bichard Inquiry into Ian Huntley and the development of the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act 2006.
Establishing VBA Consulting allowed Kerry to prioritise her value of 'Family First', to balance being a mum to three wonderful children while continuing to make a meaningful impact. Since its inception, she's been privileged to collaborate with organisations nationwide, from schools to healthcare, in cultivating values-based cultures, leadership programs, and safeguarding practices.
In addition to her professional endeavours, Kerry actively volunteers, holding roles as chair of governors at a primary school, trustee of a Multi Academy Trust, and safeguarding governor at a secondary school. She also serves as a safeguarding officer for a dance school. Furthermore, Kerry is a founding trustee of Access for Music, a charity dedicated to supporting children facing disadvantages in accessing musical provision.
Her proudest achievement remains her role as a parent, instilling values of self-worth and empowerment in her three children. #MakeaDifference

people will forget what you did,
but people will never forget how you made them feel
